Do you restock sold out styles?
Some pieces return, many do not. Because we produce in small runs, restocks are limited and depend on fabric availability and production timing. Joining our email list is the best way to hear about returns and new releases!
Are your garments small batch?
Yes. Dawn Black produces in considered quantities rather than mass volume. This allows us to maintain quality standards, reduce waste, and keep each release intentional. When a piece sells through, it may not always be repeated.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are packed and dispatched within 1-3 business days from Melbourne. Delivery times vary by location and shipping method chosen at checkout. Tracking details are provided once your order ships.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If your order has not yet been dispatched, we’ll do our best to help. Please contact us as soon as possible after ordering. Once shipped, changes or cancellations are no longer possible.
Can I exchange for a different size?
Yes — if your size isn’t quite right, we can arrange an exchange where stock is available. The item must be returned in original, unworn condition with tags attached.
If the size you need is no longer available, we can offer store credit or a refund instead.
What if my item is faulty or damaged?
If your garment arrives faulty or develops a genuine manufacturing fault, we will make it right.

What materials do you use?
We prioritise natural fibres wherever possible, with a strong focus on Australian wool. Our collections are built around materials chosen for durability, comfort, and timeless wearability. Where blends are used, they are selected to improve performance, structure, or longevity without compromising feel.
Do you offer refunds or returns?
We accept returns on full-price items within 14 days of delivery, provided the garment is unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with tags attached.
If your return meets these conditions, you may choose a refund or store credit. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

All Dawn Black garments are designed in Melbourne, Australia, with a strong focus on natural fibres and thoughtful construction. We work with Australian wool and develop each piece with intention and longevity in mind.
Until Australian manufacturing becomes commercially accessible for our community and customers, we partner with world-leading specialty manufacturers across China. These are highly skilled makers who focus on specific garment categories and techniques, and are recognised for their craftsmanship, consistency, and technical capability. We choose partners based on quality, ethics, and expertise — not shortcuts.
How do your garments fit?
Fit notes are provided on each product page, along with measurements and size guidance. Many Dawn Black silhouettes are designed for relaxed layering and long-term wear rather than trend-tight fits. If you are between sizes or unsure, contact us and we will guide you.
How should I care for my wool garments?
Wool is naturally resilient and improves with thoughtful care. Most pieces require less washing than you might expect. Gentle hand wash or cold delicate machine wash, reshape while damp, and dry flat. Detailed wool care guidance is available on our Wool Care page.
